Best of 2016: Beauty Favourites

Its no secret that I’m a bit compulsive shopper.. Even when it comes to cosmetics and beauty products. If you think my closet is bad you should see my washroom cupboards and vanity. Ive bought a lot of stuff this year that i loved and then a bunch that i hated. Heres a look at my favourites and cant live without’s of 2016

Face, Body & Skin Care

Frankbod scrub:

This will always be a favourite of mine. I got my first bag as a Christmas gift a few years ago and I’ve been buying it ever since. Its all natural, Makes your skin so soft and it smells like chocolate cake what more could you ask for in a body scrub?

GlamGlow Youth Mud:

Ive tried a bunch of mud masks this year but this ones my favourite. The tingling isn’t too much and it doesn’t leave my skin burning after like some of the others i’ve tried. The only downfall to this is the size compared to the price but oh well..

Lush Bubbly Shower gel:

This stuff smells amazing, you need to get over to your local lush and smell this asap. I usually don’t like citrus smells but it smells like a fruity wine to me and I LOVE it! You can also still smell it after you’ve gotten out of the shower.

Marcel make up removing wipes:Screen Shot 2016-12-31 at 8.23.59 PM.png

I have super sensitive skin when it comes to make up removers for some reason they always dry out my skin. These are my favourite because they’re for sensitive skin and leave my face feeling soft after I’ve removed all make up with them.  A little on the pricey side for a make up wipe but like I said worth it if you have sensitive skin.

Marcel Cleansing Milk & Purifying Toner:

I like using these in conjunction with the wipes for my night time skin care routine.

L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Sculpt Mascara:

Okay so I have serious issues with mascara.. it doesn’t matter what I do Im constantly wiping it off my eye lids during the day. 100$ mascara or a 10$ one from Walmart, always the same issue. Usually I get my eyelashes professionally done in the summer months to avoid this even more but in the winter I stick to this mascara with it being the only one I’ve found that doesn’t make me look like a raccoon all day. It’s water proof and does wonders for your lashes

Maybelline New York Brow Drama Mascara:

I have a love hate relationship with this stuff but it’s still made it to one of my favourites of the year. Its keeps my brows down after i’ve filled them in and its gel format keeps them in place all day long, especially after a dip in the pool.

Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer: Screen Shot 2016-12-30 at 10.53.57 AM.png
Remember when i bought this and said i wasn’t sure about it? Yeah i love it. Super light weight but does the trick to cover up those under eye bags and brighten up your face.

 NYX Matte Lipstick:

Oh my GOD these are amazing and my new favourite lipsticks. Seriously just as good as a mac matte lipstick these things go on super smooth and matte and THEY DONT DRY OUT YOUR LIPS!! My favourite shades are Audrey, Angel, Whipped Caviar, & Butter. Check them out for yourself

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Highlight:  In Rose Gold

Radiant, Luminous and super long lasting i love these highlighters!  The tarte one Its not too pink or not too orangey with it being rose gold! I use it along side my Mac soft and gentle so that extra pop!

VS PINK Happy Holiyay Body mist:

I just got some of these for christmas as a gift from sister and i love it. It smells like heavenly raspberry and Im cherishing the bottles because i can no longer find it on their website since its a holiday scent * insert sad face here* So if you can find it people grab it cause its to die for.

Hair care

Moroccan Oil:

Being so blonde my hair is always dry. It doesn’t matter what i do, But this stuff is the holy grail of moisture. Being a hairstylist i’m extremely anal about what products i use in my hair and i just cant use anything thats not at a professional standard. So let me tell you this right now Moroccan oil and Argan oil are NOT the same thing, Not even close. Look at it this way moroccan oil is like coca cola, while Argan oil is the no name brand. Yes it tastes like coke and looks like coke but does it really satisfy you the same way? No. Same thing goes for your hair. While we all have preferences and Im not bashing  To each there own.. There is no comparison and your hair will show you that.

Im also a huge fan of the hydration mask

CHI Keratin Line:

I looooooooooooove this entire line its got a reconstructing complex that heals and hydrates dry, damaged hair. While the keratin helps rebuilds the hair’s cuticle. So if you’ve got damaged hair and need a fix this stuff is great, plus its sulphate free so its really gentle. Only downside is it can be a little pricey, but like i said its worth it.

NUME fashionista Flat Iron:

Alright usually i’m skeptical about flat irons that are not a professional brand us stylists use but i saw these at winners one day for 45$ and decided to give it a try and see what all this hype was all about. Surprisingly its great, Heats up quick, doesn’t get too hot, and its super light weight. If you cant find any at winners just hop on the website prices are still reasonable.

It’s only a few days into 2017 and Ive already started shopping.. Lets see what its got to offer me. Try any of this stuff and have a different opinion? Anything i should try? Give me shout.
